Description
Motorcycle insurance covers the motorcycle from damage caused by an accident as well as liability to other vehicles or injury caused to another party. Typically, you would make a claim through your motorcycle insurance policy in the same way you would an auto insurance policy.
You also get coverage for a number of accessories that are associated with motorcycle riding. As an example your helmet, leathers, saddlebags and backrest should all be covered. However, the insurance on these accessories is limited so if you have an expensive helmet or other accessory it is recommended to insure it separately.
Coverage Details
Motorcycle liability insurance (the most general insurance type) will not cover your riding passenger in the event of an accident. To protect yourself and your passenger, it is recommended that you invest in comprehensive and collision coverage plans.
